Moonbase 332 – September Update

Hello, Here is the first monthly update for Moonbase 332! To bring you up to date of the development there is one major update per month.

After the announcement

I am really happy with the announcement and how the news has spread. It surprises me every time how quickly messages are distributed.

Work on the first chapter

The work on the first chapter go well. The tutorial is already finished. The tutorial is completely voluntary. You can skip it easily. It just an extra level. After the tutorial, the game starts with a cutscene. There is the explanation why you are on the moon and much more. And then there you go. You start at the beginning with only a lamp. Weapons and the necessary ammunition are spread on the Moon Base. The player will quickly know that exploring the level is important.

Closed Beta

Become a part of the closed beta! On 22 November the closed beta goes online for all registered users. The beta includes the entire first chapter and is strongly focused on it to collect feedback.

Moonbase 332 officially announced

Moonbase 332 is a first-person shooter by PatchNoteStudio.
Our goal is to create a simple and fun game. For us, it is therefore important to create a fast and smooth gameplay without a thrilling story. In the game, experience points will play an important role.

By killing enemies you get experience points. This unlocks new weapons and upgrades. You should upgrade your equipment if you want to reach the goal. Without upgrades, the game becomes more difficult.

The game will have 5 chapters. Like in a jump and run, at the end of each chapter you have to defeat a boss.

There will be enough to discover. There are hidden rooms / weapons / and so on. Finding these objects will only facilitate the game and are therefore not mandatory.

All weapons will have very little recoil and can only be shot from the hip. Health regeneration does not exist.

Graphically, we put special attention to the light. We use the same engine as in “Der Professor”. With “Der Professor” we have made ​​a lot of things wrong. We have heard the criticism. In recent months, we have improved the engine to achieve a better result. Thus we have a lot more options than before!

The meaning of the project name “code_626_moon”

So what does this mean. code_626_moon. The project name consists of three parts. code, 626 and moon.

We begin with “code”

“Code” describes the age of the game world. As announced, the style of the game is Cyberpunk. “Code” describes the digitization in the game world too.

And now what is 626?

626 is a reference to Lilo & Stitch and describes the main character. Stitch, A.K.A. Experiment 626, is an illegal genetic experiment like the main character of “code_626_moon”. Through these experiments, the character gets his abilities. You can find more information about the character then later.

And what does “moon” mean?

It means what it means. To make the game world seem more believable playing the full game on the moon.
